What is Yoga?
The term yoga comes from India and means, appropriately enough, union. The union being that between body, mind and spirit. Today we often hear of football players and golfers taking up yoga to improve their core and balance, and while this is a benefit of yoga, it tends to de-emphasize the spiritual side which is every bit as important.
It's also interesting that pilates is derived from yoga and in fact you can find classes called yoga pilates combining the two activities.
